During the largest trade fair in Europe in the field of organic food, de Smaakspecialist has made visitors experience its versatile assortment. We are of course talking about the BioFach. From Tuesday 14 to Saturday 17 February, the exhibition complex in Nuremberg was transformed into an organic mecca with over 3000 different stands from 93 different countries.
Company from all over the world
The BioFach was a good time for de Smaakspecialist to meet new international customers. We have received visitors from Europe, (South) America, Africa and Asia. Of course, the fair is also an excellent opportunity to inspire existing customers with the latest product innovations from our brands; Smaakt, BioToday and Raw Organic Food. The most highly appreciated innovations by the visitors were: roasted flaxseed, cheese fondue (in the variants goat cheese and Dutch Gouda cheese), the corn cake with lentils, all natural fruits sweets and of course the brand new pumpkin range including a variety of pumpkin-based products such as pumpkin curry sauce, pumpkin ketchup and pumpkin puree. Best of all, all these new product innovations are in 100% in line with our ‘free-from-refined-sugar’ milestone.
Vegan is, and remains, a hit!
The BioFach is the core for the organic sector. It’s a place to showcase our organic brands and products to the world, yet also a source of inspiration for de Smaakspecialist to see what is going on in the market. “The biggest trend is, and will remain, vegan food. This was present all over the entire exhibition floor. This is something we, as de Smaakspecialist, act upon by developing new products that are packed with plantbased protein such as the legume chips from BioToday and the lupine beans from Smaakt. We also saw that turmeric is becoming increasingly popular. We take this into account in our product developments and you may well soon be see more of this in our range. “Hélène – New Product Development
